Lainey Wilson Wins Album of the Year at the 60th ACM Awards for Whirlwind

The 60th Annual ACM Awards, held on May 8, 2025, at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, proved to be another landmark night for Lainey Wilson, who took home one of the night’s most coveted honors: Album of the Year for her standout project Whirlwind.

    A Celebrated Victory for Whirlwind
Up against a stacked category that included projects by Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney, Post Malone, and Zach Top, Wilson’s Whirlwind emerged as the winner — and few were surprised.

Produced by Jay Joyce and released under BBR Music Group / BMG Nashville, Whirlwind has been a commercial and critical triumph. The album reached #3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200, cutting across genre lines with its mix of heartfelt ballads and gritty Southern swagger.

With standout singles like “Hang Tight Honey” and “4x4xU,” the album resonated deeply with both fans and radio, helping Wilson continue her meteoric rise in country music.

A Two-Time Album of the Year Winner
This marks Lainey Wilson’s second Album of the Year win, following her 2023 victory for Bell Bottom Country. The back-to-back wins not only confirm her status as one of the most dominant voices in modern country but also highlight her ability to evolve while staying true to her roots.

    A Star Among Stars
The night was packed with show-stopping performances from Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Jelly Roll, and Wilson herself, who performed as both a nominee and a winner. She was joined by fellow breakout Zach Top, the night’s New Male Artist of the Year.

Wilson also entered the ceremony as the most-nominated artist of the year with eight nods — and left it with another landmark win to add to her growing legacy.

Congratulations to Lainey Wilson, Jay Joyce, and the entire Whirlwind team on a well-earned ACM Album of the Year victory!
