Morgan Wallen and Post Malone Drop Fiery Second Duet, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back”

Morgan Wallen and Post Malone have teamed up once again—this time for their second powerful collaboration, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.” While the title suggests a departure, the two chart-topping artists have made a big return with this new release.

The duo first joined forces in 2024 with “I Had Some Help,” the lead single from Malone’s debut country project F-1 Trillion. The track quickly exploded, dominating charts, winning Billboard’s “Song of the Summer,” and securing the Top Collaboration award at the Billboard Music Awards.

Fans had been eagerly hoping for another team-up—and on April 15, Wallen confirmed those hopes by announcing their next duet. Just a few days later, on April 18, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” officially dropped.

    Lyrics That Hit Hard
Co-written by Wallen, Malone, Louis Bell, HARDY, ERNEST, and Ryan Vojtesak, the song opens with Wallen reflecting on his rugged, rebellious nature and how he doesn’t fit into the picture-perfect expectations of a former flame.

    In the chorus, he sings:

“But the night I said, ‘I’m leavin’,’ I turned into Richard Petty.
Broke my heart, so I got even in my ’97 Chevy.
Now I’m walkin’ on this water mixed with Johnnie Walker Black.
    There’s a lot of reasons I ain’t Jesus,
But the main one is that I ain’t comin’ back.”

Malone takes the second verse, responding with his own raw take, admitting the woman once called him the Devil—and he doesn’t deny it. “I might be a lot of things,” he sings, “but I ain’t your savin’ grace.”

The two artists trade off verses and eventually join forces for a passionate final chorus, making for a gritty, anthemic track that blends country storytelling with a modern edge.

A Taste of Wallen’s Massive New Album
“I Ain’t Comin’ Back” is part of Morgan Wallen’s upcoming album I’m the Problem, set for release on May 16. The ambitious 37-track record includes collaborations with Post Malone, ERNEST, HARDY, Eric Church, and Tate McRae—who makes history as the first female artist to duet with Wallen.

While “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” is the only featured collaboration released so far, Wallen has already previewed several solo tracks from the album, leaving fans excited for what’s to come.

With emotional lyrics, sharp delivery, and undeniable chemistry, Wallen and Malone have once again struck gold—and fans are here for it.
