Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks’ duet of Shallow, best known from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born, wowed viewers.

Kelly Clarkson dazzled fans at her 2019 “Meaning of Life” event in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with a stunning cover of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s 2018 Grammy and Golden Globe-winning song “Shallow.”

Gaga co-wrote the song for the romantic she appeared in with Cooper. “This chick is amazing,” Clarkson, 42, said.

“I love this song…”I thought she and Bradley Cooper did such a great job with this song, ‘Shallow,’ so we’re performing our own version since I don’t have Bradley Cooper.”

“I hope I don’t suck, and if I do, I hope she doesn’t see it,” Clarkson told People.

Millions appreciated her “effortless vocals” on her cover.

“She sings like she wrote it!” Beautiful,” One fan says on Clarkson’s YouTube video.

I still get chills from this cover. A second says, “Simply the best,” while a third asks, “Is there a grammy for covers? You did well Kelly.”

    Jam session
A few years later, Garth Brooks jammed with Kelly Clarkson on the show.

Before that, the “Dive Bar” singer told Clarkson about his 2020 duet with Trisha Yearwood, “Shallow”.

I saw you do this live on Facebook. You did something live. Is that how it began? American Idol invites her guest, saying the song is a highlight of Brooks’ album, “Fun.”

On February 7, Brooks, 63, said “somebody requested that him and his wife sing the duet on his Facebook Live show.”

Miss Yearwood understood what she was doing, so I thought, ‘Oh, crap.’ I saw the movie—it’s cool,” Brooks said, strumming guitar bars from the song.

It invites you in…I adore it, Clarkson says.

    ‘Fabulous’
Then the country legend asks her to sing. “I would love to hear you sing,” he said.

I want to sing with you. Trisha, sorry,” she joked. “If you were here, I’d sing three-part.”

The musician stared into the camera and addressed his wife, saying, “Miss Yearwood.” I didn’t like that,” then said, “That was fabulous!”

    ‘Musical chemistry’
The performance was little but powerful. Clarkson’s soaring vocals and Brooks’ storytelling tone made ‘Shallow’ genuine and authentic. Clarkson’s modern pop and Brooks’ vintage country sound created a wonderful blend that resonated with audiences across genres.

“Kelly doesn’t just sing a song, she makes you [feel] it and understand it,” a YouTube viewer adds.

“The musical chemistry between Kelly and Garth is off-the-charts and I desperately want a real duet single from them,” adds another.

“I can sit here all day listening to them sing. Both have wonderful personalities and talents. This was great to watch!” says a third.

Another describes the terrifying performance: “Garth started, I had goosebumps. Kelly sounds great and comes on strong. Excellent pair and song. Thank you both.”

It was musical magic when Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks covered Shallow. Their seamless vocal blend gave a song full of emotion new life.
