She has tens of millions of fans, has been one of the most famous women in the world for the past two years, and has never been involved in a scandal or been sued for defamation. Still, it seems like even Taylor Swift can be booed by a large group of people.
The superstar singer seemed to be doing nothing during last night’s Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the crowd started to pick on her. Swift was at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs star Travis Kelce. She looked at her friend and fellow artist Ice Spice and asked, “What’s going on?”
The crowd of 75,000 people started booing out of the blue when the camera pans to Swift in her box and then shows her on the big screen.
Of course, Swift was just as shocked as everyone else. The negative response has made people wonder: why did it happen in the first place?
Of course, as is always the case these days, the event was quickly discussed on social media. Also, as soon as the video of Swift being booed hit the internet, Swift fans on X tried to figure out what was going on.
“Fans of the Eagles are booing her.” “She’s from the Philadelphia area, but it’s clear she cheers for Travis and the Chiefs,” someone wrote.
Another person said, “The boos are from Eagles fans, which is the opposite team she supports. That’s OK.”
“It’s the Eagles fans,” said a third.
There were still people who didn’t understand what was going on, and many of them took to X to share their thoughts.
Someone asked, “Why did they boo her?” “I thought she was America’s sweetheart?”

“Booing taylor swift as if she’s playing on the field against ‘your’ team, even though she’s just sitting there looking pretty, is loser behavior,” said another.
“What I don’t understand is why people booed at Taylor Swift? Like she was doing literally nothing and she’s just there to show support to Travis Kelce and see the game, it’s not like they’re going to make a Gabriella-Troy scene in High School Musical 3,” a third wrote.
One person who wasn’t on the receiving end of any ire was Donald Trump, who reportedly became the first sitting president in US history to attend a Super Bowl.
When the camera panned to the POTUS – who only took his oath of office three weeks ago – cheers rang out around the stadium. “I thought it would be a good thing for the country to have the president at the game,” Trump had said in an interview.
In the game itself, the Eagles emerged triumphant over the Chiefs in a 40-22 victory, stopping the Chiefs from repeating the success they enjoyed last year.
