2 Broke Girls became a cult favorite despite reviewers calling it cheap, predictable, and with bad gags.

Lead actresses Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings’ witty banter and strong connection kept viewers coming back.

Laughable mishaps behind the scenes added to the show’s charm.

Despite ending after six seasons, 2 Broke Girls remains popular with fans. The show follows Max Black (Kat Dennings) and Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), two ladies from diverse backgrounds. Caroline was the daughter of a wealthy businessman, whereas Max was poor. Caroline loses everything, so the two become roommates and labor at a diner to raise money for a cupcake company.

The show launched Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, who have done some wonderful things since. Despite its predictable moments, the sitcom’s leading females had chemistry. They elevated the comic series.

The creators’ unique humor set the show apart from other sitcoms. Also, they created some memorable side characters that provided flavor. The show received 12 Emmy nominations despite its unpopularity. But with so much notoriety, 2 Broke Girls clearly had a bigger influence than we expected.

    Best real-life pals
Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings, 2 Broke Girls stars, are best friends in real life.

The two actresses have a great bond that makes their on-screen chemistry even more genuine, even if Max and Caroline are from different backgrounds.

They often discuss how their tight connection made working together pleasurable.

“Beth and I genuinely love each other and are best friends in real life and that probably reads,” Dennings told ET Online in 2013. “It’s not like you think these two girls are faking love—we really do”.

Best pal Beth Behrs married actor Michael Gladis in July 2018, and Kat Dennings was there. Dennings served as a bridesmaid in a rustic Victor, Idaho wedding. In addition to their on-screen relationship, Dennings posted lovely comments on social media to show her love for Behrs.

2 Broke Girls was criticized why?
Two Broke Girls was regularly criticized for using foul humor.

Sexual, drug, and racial jokes are included.

All six seasons of 2 Broke Girls starred Matthew Moy as quirky diner boss Han Lee. Moy, from San Francisco and Chinese descent, plays a Korean character with a Korean accent and broken English. Some criticized this portrayal as stereotypical and racist. Han reinforced negative stereotypes about Asian men, sparking a discussion about racial representation in TV comedy.

Moy said, “I know many people had concerns about Han and the accent.” The comedy on 2 Broke Girls is never mean—it’s always loving. This comedy often goes to the edge. Doesn’t concern me. I’ve always experienced this. I’ve always been mocked”.

Actual Kat Dennings’ life is the reverse of her persona.
Kat Dennings’ lifestyle is completely different from her portrayal.

Dennings is sober, doesn’t smoke, drink, or do drugs, and avoids partygoers like Max.

She described being around drunk people as “seeing someone jump out of a plane without a parachute” in a Glamour interview. Since Dennings loves reading and knitting, she clearly finds serenity in a more grounded, quiet existence, which fans respect.

    Pizza boom
Kat Dennings wasn’t depressed when 2 Broke Girls was canceled in May 2017. Instead, she broke her “no alcohol” rule for a celebratory (and likely therapeutic) drink.

She told Yahoo! Movies, “We had a wine and pizza explosion at her house, eating and drinking everything.” It was great!”

Pizza parties can soften the blow, right?

True reason 2 Broke Girls ended
Several factors led to 2 Broke Girls’ cancellation after six seasons and 138 episodes. Though a CBS staple, the show ended due to declining ratings.

Additionally, CBS wanted to own more of its shows, which changed priorities. In fall 2017, the network needed to add three new sitcoms, which influenced the decision.

It wasn’t just about ratings—CBS was changing and needed new content.

    Cher almost became Max’s mother.
Cher was rumored to guest star as Max’s mother if 2 Broke Girls got another season. Imagine the ultimate diva walking onto the set and causing Max’s sassy havoc. Fans would’ve been treated to magic.

As the show ended, Cher and Max (Kat Dennings) never danced. It’s a fun “what could have been” moment!

    Caroline’s famous heels hurt.
Max and Caroline frequently wear high heels at the Williamsburg Diner, which has drawn attention.

One viewer joked that servers “don’t wear heels to work, no matter how sassy they are.” Fans love to discuss this unique detail, even though it’s unrealistic.

Caroline, played by Beth Behrs, often wears those high heels on set, but they’re terrible. She wears those gorgeous heels in set photographs despite their agony.

Behrs’ 2014 Instagram snap of Caroline’s 7-inch Louboutins’ aftermath was humorous and relatable.

Her caption joked, “7-inch Louboutins + physical comedy + episode 21 = lotsa this. And several Epsom salt baths, which I won’t photograph.”

    An image that speaks volumes
Two Broke Girls’ Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) and Max Black (Kat Dennings) wonderfully capture their opposite personalities in their waitress uniforms in one unforgettable photo.

In typical high-society style, Caroline wears a pearl necklace and 7-inch Louboutin shoes to the diner, which is gorgeous yet impractical for a busy waitress. (Servers wear comfy flats).

Max, who is tough and grounded, wears boots and leather jackets that reflect her working-class roots.

The show’s humor is captured by the two best friends working side by side in a greasy café in unsuitable attire.

Discover fun facts about 2 Broke Girls, starting with “and” in each episode name. Only Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs were consistent throughout the series, playing their famous roles.

Except for the first episode, which was titled “Pilot,” all episode titles begin with “And” as in 2 Broke Girls.

The sitcom was even adapted in Russia with Olya and Margo replacing Max and Caroline, but it only lasted three seasons and didn’t capture the charm of the original.

A humorous full-circle moment: Max and Caroline started the series after breaking up. Broken. Not all things change!

Paid per 2 Broke Girls rerun.
Two Broke Girls made Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs rich! The program made a lot of money, but Dennings has never disclosed her salary.

The hit sitcom was sold to TBS for $1.7 million per episode for syndication. That arrangement earned hundreds of millions with 138 episodes.

Dennings, who began appearing in a potato chip commercial, undoubtedly took home a considerable portion of those proceeds, amounting to her $25 million net worth. With syndication partnerships, Kat makes money every time 2 Broke Girls airs, according to Nicki Swift.

In contrast, Behrs moved from 2 Broke Girls to wealthy, earning millions. Celebrity Net Worth lists Beth Behrs’ $20 million net worth. Both made enough to cover that cupcake company.

    Reunion?
    Could 2 Broke Girls reunite?

It seems Kat Dennings is on board! She happily exclaimed, “Oh my god, I would,” on PEOPLE Now in November 2019. No one has introduced that topic to me. Would! It would be fun, like a reunion!” Max and Caroline may be BFFs today, but where they are is unknown.

Enjoyed Max and Caroline’s adventures? Be sure to tell your friends about 2 Broke Girls’ amazing success behind the scenes!
