The mother of the 26-year-old assumed that her son had a job in San Francisco; however, she had not received any communication from him since July 2024.

Luigi Mangione’s mother, Kathleen Mangione, filed a missing person report for her son a few weeks before to his arrest on allegations of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

New information regarding the actions taken by Luigi Mangione’s mother prior to his arrest has been disclosed by the police.

Kathleen made a phone call to the San Francisco police department on November 18, 2024, and she informed them that she had not communicated with her son for a number of months. Her report provides the following information: “Kathleen stated that she spoke with Luigi on 07/11/24 and that Luigi worked at TrueCar at 124 Montgomery Street, which is permanently closed and the main number is disconnected.”

She was under the impression that he was employed by TrueCar, a corporation that had its headquarters in Santa Monica, despite the fact that she was uncertain about his current place of living or his daily routine in the city.

While a spokesperson did acknowledge that Luigi left the company in 2023, they did not comment on the statement that was made by the mother who went missing. Additionally, Luigi’s LinkedIn profile includes a statement stating that he was employed at TrueCar, Inc. as a data processing engineer. It is not known, however, whether he was operating from a remote location.

TrueCar made the announcement that it would be opening an office at 140 New Montgomery Street in a news release around the year 2015; however, it is not apparent whether or not the office is still operational. During the month of June in the year 2024, the real estate news agency stated that TrueCar was terminating the lease on its headquarters in Santa Monica.

Currently, additional information regarding Luigi has come to light, including the fact that he has a relationship with a Republican legislator serving in the Maryland state government. Although Luigi was born and raised in Maryland, he also has ties to San Francisco because his relatives live there. This is despite the fact that he was born and raised in Maryland. He did, however, reside in Honolulu up until quite recently.

It has been reported by the New York Times that Luigi hails from a family that is well-known and important in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. This family has extensive roots in the business and real estate industries. In the 1970s, his grandparents, Nick Mangione Sr. and Mary K. Mangione, were the ones who bought and constructed the Turf Valley Country Club in Ellicott City.
