Simon Cowell Shocks Fans: His $600 Million Fortune Won’t Go to His Son

Kelly WhitewoodBy Kelly WhitewoodSeptember 24, 20243 Mins Read

On TV talent programs, Simon Cowell is renowned for being a harsh and brutally honest judge. He has built a successful career for himself as a producer and creator of hit programs like *The X Factor* and *America’s Got Talent*. Simon Cowell, the harsh TV guy, is now a loving parent. He has declared that his son Eric would not receive any of his $600 million fortune. Rather, he intends to give it all to a good cause.

Owner of a highly successful entertainment company, producer, and TV personality, Simon Cowell is well-known for presiding over talent contests in the US and the UK. He can now add fatherhood to his list of responsibilities. In 2014, Cowell became a father, an event that he claims altered his character. But in an interview prior to the birth of his son Eric, he stated that none of his $600 million fortune will be given to him. He feels that it is wrong to transfer money to the following generation.

In 2013, Simon Cowell declared, “I’m going to leave my money to someone—probably a charity, like kids and dogs.” Leaving a legacy is more important to him than simply giving his son money. Cowell believes that more than lavish financial gifts, what matters most is assisting his son in pursuing a prosperous career.

“The objective is to share your knowledge with people and to give them opportunities so they can succeed,” he clarified. Simon Cowell is estimated to be worth $600 million, all of which he intends to contribute to charitable causes. Although he hasn’t chosen the charity yet, he said it will probably have something to do with kids or dogs.

Not just Simon Cowell has declared that their money will support charitable organizations rather than their own children. Anderson Cooper, a well-known TV anchor, has similar opinions. In 2020, he announced the surrogate birth of his child and declared, “I don’t believe in passing on huge amounts of money.” Although I’m not really interested in money, I don’t intend to leave my son with a pot of gold. My parents instilled in me the belief that after paying for college, one must begin working.

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, is among the richest persons in the world, yet he has also pledged that his children will not inherit his billions. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will receive the majority of his wealth as well as that of his ex-wife Melinda Gates. The global eradication of poverty, hunger, and disease is the goal of this charity. Gates clarified, “Giving enormous amounts of wealth to children is not a favor. It may skew their course.

Celebrities such as Jackie Chan, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, Gordon Ramsay, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Sir Elton John share the belief that riches shouldn’t be passed down. On Facebook, Zuckerberg and his spouse stated, “We have a moral obligation to all children in the next generation.” Our primary goals will be to cure illness, foster strong communities, connect individuals, and provide individualized education.
