John Lennon’s son Julian sings ‘Imagine’ for ‘the first time ever’ in support of refugees from Ukraine

Julian Lennon, the son of John Lennon, said he would never play “Imagine,” his father’s famous peace hymn. The musician determined that the world needed to hear his father’s words, even if he would only perform it if the world was ending.

However, the 59-year-old felt forced to sing the song in public as part of the 2022 Global Citizen’s Stand Up for Ukraine fundraiser because of the current conflict in Ukraine.

Although Julian’s performance was less elaborate than his father’s 1971 song, it was no less impactful.

Julian claimed to have responded “in the most significant way I could” to the “unimaginable tragedy” that occurred in Ukraine.

He wrote, “The song reflects the hope that we all have for the light at the end of the tunnel.” “Millions of innocent families have been forced to flee the comforts of their homes in search of asylum elsewhere due to the ongoing murderous violence.”

Since the fighting began at the end of February, more than 4.5 million people have fled Ukraine.

According to Deadline, more than $10 billion was promised to support migrants from Ukraine during the Global Citizen event that Julian played for.

Grants and loans from public European financial institutions made up the other half of the gifts, which came from governments, businesses, and individuals from all around the world.

Julian Lennon, the son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia Lennon, appealed to everyone on the planet to assist not only refugees fleeing Ukraine but also those looking for a better life everywhere.

“I’m urging world leaders and everyone who shares IMAGINE’s values to defend refugees everywhere! Kindly speak up and make a donation from your heart.

Stunningly lovely. There are no more words to adequately express Julian’s version or his appeal for aid to the war-torn country of Ukraine.

Please share Julian Lennon’s rendition of “Imagine” to help bring about world peace and awareness.
