There were “issues for years” between Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin.
The couple filed for divorce this week after being married for 25 years and dating for more than 30 years. New claims suggest that things have not been going well for years.
A source told People Magazine, “It wasn’t just one thing that made her [Flavin] file for divorce.” The source also said, “They’ve had a lot of problems for years, and she just had enough.”
This person who knows the family well added, “They’ve been unhappy for a while and had talked about waiting until their kids were older to officially split up.”
They have three children together: Scarlet, 20, Sistine, 24, and Sophia, 25.
The source also said Flavin “got tired of going around in circles” because he and Jen kept “having arguments that Jen feels will never end.”
The source’s claims come one day after Flavin talked about her choice to file for divorce in public.
Flavin told People Magazine, “I’m sorry to say that I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone after 25 years of marriage.” We are no longer married, but I will always love the more than 30-year relationship we had together, and I know that we are both dedicated to our lovely girls.
“I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward,” she told me.
The Rocky and Rambo star sent his own message, telling Page Six of The New York Post, “I love my family.” We are talking about these personal problems in a friendly and private way.
According to the gossip page, Flavin asked for the couple’s shared assets to be “equitably distributed” between them when she filed for divorce this week.
The news source also said that Flavin wanted to be “compensated and made whole” by getting more money from the divorce than her husband.
Flavin said she was asking because Stallone had hurt the “marital estate” by “spending, spending, spending, or wasting” marital funds on things other than the marriage.
He is 76 years old, and Flavin is 54 years old. They got married in 1997, but they met in 1988 at a restaurant in Beverly Hills.
