    Fred Parris wrote the song “In the Still of the Night,” which his group Five Satins recorded. When it was originally released, it was a moderate hit, but it gained significant attention over time and is now regarded as one of the greatest doo-woop songs ever. Numerous artists have covered it, such as Debbie Gibson and Boyz II Men. It has also appeared in a number of motion pictures.

    Parris wrote this gem in the basement of a nearby church in 1955. We may watch a live clip from the movie Sweet Beat in the video below. After appearing on the 1987 “Dirty Dancing” album, the song continued to gain popularity.

    In the end, the Rolling Stones placed the song at number 90 on their 2010 list of the Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. ABOVE VIDEO:
