Meghan McCain just went on the record to talk about her opinion on Jennifer Lopez. McCain, who is a conservative commentator and previously was a co-host on The View, spoke about the negative commentary that has been following Jennifer Lopez constantly over the last few weeks.
Lopez has been under intense media scrutiny as rumors about her impending divorce from husband Ben Affleck swirl. The singer then canceled her upcoming ‘This Is Me… Live’ tour, which fueled the impending divorce rumors even more.
“I actually feel bad now because I feel like we’re turning a point where there’s bullying happening to J.Lo, and I don’t want to add to that,” McCain said in the latest episode of her podcast, Citizen McCain. But she still went on to recount her experience. She said of Lopez, “She just is a deeply unpleasant person.”
McCain described Lopez as “not nice” when she was a guest on The View. The former host of the show said, “Whatever, you don’t always have to be so nice. It was just surprising given that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful. Also, when you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment… just fake it ’till you make it for 10 f**king minutes.”
McCain also alleged that Lopez and her legal team had a Citizen McCain TikTok about the singer removed after it briefly went viral. “But then it got put back up. She had it taken down for terms of violation for bullying…. Allegedly!” McCain shared.
The video was published in April. It featured McCain as she talked about her negative interactions with Jennifer Lopez. “I have a bad J.Lo story too. She came on The View many times as a guest, not my favorite. Not my favorite,” McCain said in the viral clip that amassed over 2 million views. “Some of the biggest celebrities I’ve ever met in my entire life, I mean, giant celebrities have maybe one publicist with them. Jennifer Lopez has more people traveling with her than the president. I’m not kidding.”
She also shared how one of Lopez’s employees had an unusual job, allegedly. “I’m going to get in so much trouble for this, but my big memory of J.Lo is there was a person whose entire job was to hold up a mirror with lights while they were touching her up backstage,” she recalled in the clip. “I remember thinking, ‘That poor man. What a weird job. He probably went to art school or something and had dreams of being a musician and he’s like, ‘I hold J.Lo’s light.’”
Rumors surrounding Lopez and Affleck continue to gain even more steam as the couple has quietly listed their $60.8 million home on the market. They purchased the Beverly Hills home only a year ago, in May 2023. The news came on the heels of rumors that the couple is gearing up to split up. A source commented in May this year that they are “continuing to take space from each other.” The same month, another source close to the couple claimed that they were “going through some problems.”
Lopez and Affleck had rekindled their romance after twenty years in 2021. The couple tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony attended only by them and their children. They followed that ceremony with one in Georgia later on. Despite the speculation over separating, the couple have made no comments and even appeared together to attend Ben Affleck’s daughter, Violet Affleck’s high school graduation ceremony.
