Princes William and Harry, estranged by years of distance and duty, reunited for the first and only time this year—not for diplomacy, but for love. It was their mother’s 63rd birthday, and they chose to honor her not with speeches or ceremony, but with something far more personal: silence, song, and memory. Inside a quiet London hotel suite, with only a piano and a flickering candle between them, the brothers shared stories, laughter, and finally, a trembling duet of the song they once sang for Diana as children. Staff standing nearby were said to be frozen by emotion—some sobbing silently—as the future king and his brother, stripped of status, became only sons again. When the final note faded, Harry turned to William and whispered, “She would’ve loved this,” to which William replied, “She never left.” And in that moment, every heart in the room broke—and began to heal.

Shirley Jones, the legendary actress who starred in hit TV shows like “The Partridge Family” and “The Music Man,” celebrated her 90th birthday not long ago with a family gathering that included her three sons, Shaun, Ryan, and Patrick.

A heartwarming family photo went viral online to commemorate the occasion, which occurred on the night before her birthday on March 31.

Her son Shaun Cassidy posted a heartfelt message about the historic event on Instagram. He spoke of his mother with fondness, calling her “Miss Pittsburgh,” honoring her influence and legacy. Wishing Miss Pittsburgh a very happy 90th birthday! Remembering the legendary star’s impact on his life and career, Shaun wrote, “What an incredible night” in an emotional message.

David Cassidy, Shirley Jones’s stepson and co-star on “The Partridge Family” as Keith Partridge, passed away recently, so the family reunion was all the more meaningful for that reason. After a long battle with dementia and subsequent organ failure, David died in 2017 at 67 years of age.

Shaun Cassidy also posted a letter on his website, in addition to the homage on social media, in which he discussed the impact and personality of his mother. Optimistic and grateful for life’s little pleasures like laughter, family, and nature, he portrayed Shirley Jones as an eternal optimist. He revealed that a girl from a little town in Western Pennsylvania, who became a movie star while never acting like one, will celebrate her 90th birthday on Easter Sunday, which is just one week away.

Shaun recounted Shirley’s incredible career in show business, highlighting her critically praised turns in “Oklahoma” and “Carousel” films and her Academy Award–winning performance in “Elmer Gantry.” But he stressed that her portrayal of Shirley Partridge in “The Partridge Family” was her most famous performance.

Shaun expressed his gratitude for his mother’s presence and her continued health as he reflected on the approaching family gatherings. With gratitude for her presence and blessings bestowed upon her by her excellent health, her children and grandchildren will meet to celebrate all of these occasions and more with mom. Sending birthday wishes to mom. Thank you for providing stability in an unpredictable world and for being an inspiration to so many through your talent and generosity. “I adore you,” he said in closing.

Shaun commemorated his mother’s remarkable journey a week prior to her milestone birthday by sharing a cherished throwback photo of her. On Easter Sunday, exactly one week from now, my mom will turn ninety years old. Her trip is very remarkable. In my bio and in the link below, I’ve mentioned her briefly. My Mom, I hope you have a very happy birthday! With the caption “#ShirleyJones,” he encouraged his audience to discover more about the remarkable life of the actress.
