Valerie Bertinelli, the co-host of Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship alongside Duff Goldman, will no longer be part of the show. The news of her departure was shared by Bertinelli herself in a heartfelt video on Instagram.

Expressing her feelings about the decision, Bertinelli acknowledged the business aspect behind such changes, citing budget cuts. Although discussions about her return took place when her contract ended, negotiations stalled when her team sought more favorable terms.

The announcement was particularly emotional for Bertinelli, who revealed the significant impact the Kids Baking Championship had on her life, especially during the current season. Season 12, which is currently airing, was filmed in the summer of 2022—a challenging year for the actress as she went through a divorce with Tom Vitale.

Bertinelli shared the personal struggles she faced during the filming period, emphasizing that, despite the difficulties, the show became a lifeline for her. She expressed deep regret that she won’t have the opportunity to return to the show and share with everyone that she made it through.

Praising her co-host Duff Goldman and the entire team she worked with over the 12 seasons, Bertinelli expressed her gratitude and sent her best wishes to the bakers participating in the new season. Despite her absence, she assured them that she would be with them in spirit.
