Viewers just learned the inspiring tale of CNN news host Sara Sidner’s battle with breast cancer. Sidner expressed her gratitude to her illness for “choosing” her and recounted her journey from diagnosis to treatment in an emotional update.

Just before her CNN broadcast ended, Sara Sidner bravely shared her story of battling stage 3 breast cancer. Sharing her diagnosis with tears, she thanked God for the power it had given her, exposing a range of feelings she had never experienced before.

As a senior national correspondent and host of “CNN News Central,” Sidner was caught off guard by this trip as she had never been ill. She took pride in her health, saying, “I have never been sick a day in my life,” and going on to mention that she smoked and rarely drank.

When Sidner initially learned she had cancer, she had a hard time keeping the news from her loved ones. Nobody knew what had happened, not even her husband, mom, sisters, or friends. Despite her initial despair, she eventually realized that she shouldn’t give up lightly when faced with cancer.

Afterwards, Sidner started the healing process by undergoing chemotherapy. Additionally, she is scheduled to undergo radiation therapy and a double mastectomy. Cancer therapy has numerous undesirable side effects, including fatigue and increased downtime. Her chemotherapy-induced hair loss has worsened recently.

Sidner is extremely thankful for the life she loves, and her gratitude has only grown after receiving the cancer diagnosis, despite the immense suffering she endures as a result of the disease. To add insult to injury, she says the illness is responsible for “choosing her.” “Every single day that I breathe another breath, I can celebrate that I am still here with you,” stated the woman.

She has carried on with her life as usual, working every day since her diagnosis and even hosting a New Year’s Eve special despite having chemotherapy. Many people may find encouragement in Sidner’s tale as she navigates her health journey alongside her work obligations.

Shannen Doherty has also been forthright about overcoming breast cancer. The seasoned actress had earlier discussed her decline and the likelihood of losing to the sickness; she went into remission and then returned.
