Born in 1930, she became one of the most influential voices in American labor history. Alongside César Chávez, she co-founded the organization that became the United Farm Workers, leading historic campaigns for fair wages, safer working conditions, and dignity for agricultural workers.

She was also the woman behind the powerful slogan “Sí, se puede” (“Yes, we can”), which inspired generations of activists around the world.

Throughout her extraordinary life, Huerta fought for women’s equality, immigrant rights, and economic justice. Her contributions earned her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, one of America’s highest civilian honors.

Even into her 90s, she remained an outspoken advocate for communities whose voices often went unheard.

Her passing marks the end of a remarkable chapter in American civil rights history, but her influence will endure for generations.

Rest in peace, Dolores Huerta (1930–2026). 🕊️

Sí, se puede. Her words will never be forgotten.
