Emily excused herself to the restroom and called her brother, asking him to come right away. She met him outside and brought him back into the room, straight toward Jason.
Jason recognized Daniel immediately and reacted with visible shock, his voice loud enough to turn heads across the restaurant. Realizing who Emily actually was, his composure disappeared.
Katherine joined them soon after, and the truth began to unravel. The impressive house turned out to be a rental, the Porsche belonged to Daniel’s rental company, and Jason had even failed to pay an extension fee on it. Katherine was hearing the real story of their finances for the first time.
