Panettiere spent much of her childhood at 129 Washington Spring Road in Palisades, New York, where she lived with her younger brother, Jansen Panettiere. Located in Snedens Landing, the property sits in an area that has long attracted actors, artists and other prominent residents.
For Hayden, however, its significance wasn’t about celebrity neighbors. It was home.
The approximately 4,000-square-foot residence, built in 1998, features a distinctive mansard-style roof and later underwent extensive improvements. When it returned to the market in early 2025, it was listed for $3.99 million.
Inside, the house features a marble foyer, oak flooring, high ceilings, arched windows, marble bathrooms and two hand-carved fireplaces later converted from wood-burning to gas. Outside, landscaped grounds include a barbecue area, gas fire pit and a koi pond surrounded by aquatic plants.

But no luxury feature could compete with the memories Panettiere associated with the area.
After Jansen died unexpectedly in February 2023 at just 28, Hayden repeatedly spoke about how profoundly the loss affected her.
“When I lost him, I felt like I lost half of my soul,”
she told People in 2024.
She explained that because Jansen was her only sibling, she had always felt protective of him. His death left a wound she didn’t believe would ever completely disappear.
“I will always be heartbroken about it. I will never be able to get over it,”
she said.
Years later, familiar surroundings provided some comfort. In the prologue to her 2026 memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, Panettiere described returning to Rockland County and spending several months with her father, Alan “Skip” Panettiere, and her stepmother.

After almost two decades away, she found herself hiking, reading, golfing with her father and even walking past the house where she had grown up.
“I didn’t expect to stay as long as I have, but after a few hard years, I needed to give my mind, body, and soul some rest,”
she wrote.
Her father’s home was also filled with Jansen’s artwork, giving Hayden another way to feel connected to the brother she deeply missed.
Hundreds of miles away, another property represented an entirely different chapter.
Panettiere’s approximately 4,500-square-foot Nashville home at 2013 Castleman Drive became the family retreat she shared with Wladimir Klitschko and their young daughter, Kaya.
Rather than creating a conventional celebrity mansion, interior designer Benjamin Vandiver helped transform the Green Hills residence into a playful and highly personal home.
The dining room reflected Hayden’s love of the ocean, while oversized chairs were chosen partly to accommodate Klitschko’s 6-foot-6 frame. Vintage pieces and unexpected decorative elements appeared throughout the property.
One particularly memorable feature was a “jam room” constructed above the garage as a surprise for Klitschko. It contained guitars, drums, vintage amplifiers and autographed memorabilia associated with stars including Justin Timberlake, Fergie and will.i.am.
But Kaya’s bedroom held the greatest emotional significance.
Designed as an elaborate, feminine hideaway, it included a small bed where Hayden could curl up beside her daughter. Kaya also had a miniature director’s chair given to her by members of the Nashville cast and crew.
Panettiere later explained exactly why the property would always remain special to her.
“I will always remember this house because it’s where I first raised my daughter. And that’s a really cool feeling.”
Before that Nashville chapter, however, Hayden owned another property during one of the most important periods of her early Hollywood career.
In March 2008, when she was just 19, Panettiere and her mother, Lesley Vogel, purchased a house at 7640 Curson Terrace in the Hollywood Hills for approximately $2.63 million.
The timing coincided with Hayden’s emergence as a major young Hollywood star. She had already appeared in Bring It On: All or Nothing and was becoming internationally recognizable through her role as Claire Bennet on Heroes.
Hayden and her mother briefly listed the property for rent in 2009 before eventually taking it off the market.
In February 2014, Panettiere sold the house for approximately $3.075 million.
What followed was a complicated series of ownership and financial transactions that dramatically changed the property’s future.
After changing hands, the property became associated with substantial financing. By 2023, more than $12 million in debt connected with it had reportedly entered default. A January 2024 filing placed the amount in default at approximately $12.82 million.
Foreclosure proceedings followed, and in July 2024, the property transferred through a trustee’s deed valued at approximately $13.45 million.
Eventually, the Hollywood Hills house Hayden once shared with her mother disappeared altogether.
The residence was demolished.
By August 2026, what remained was a half-acre development site reportedly offered for $6.99 million. Instead of marketing Panettiere’s former celebrity residence, the listing promoted plans for an entirely new luxury estate.
Those plans envisioned an approximately 14,705-square-foot contemporary mansion featuring an infinity pool, private wellness spa, entertainment areas and rooftop terrace.
It was a striking transformation.
The place Hayden purchased as a teenager during her rapid rise in Hollywood was no longer standing. Unlike her childhood home or the Nashville property where she created memories with Kaya, virtually nothing visible remained of the residence itself.
Panettiere died suddenly on August 16, 2026, at 36.
Looking back, the three properties represent remarkably different periods of her life: the New York home where she grew up beside Jansen, the Nashville retreat where she experienced early motherhood, and the Hollywood Hills property connected to the years when she was becoming one of television’s most recognizable young actresses.
Buildings can be renovated, sold or even demolished.
The experiences attached to them are harder to erase.
For Panettiere, these homes weren’t simply expensive pieces of real estate. They were settings for some of the relationships that defined her life—a childhood shared with her brother, precious years with her daughter and the extraordinary rise of a young actress finding her place in Hollywood.
