My lawyer Bernard and my longtime friend Miriam helped me away from the gathering. Delilah had apparently assumed that her executive position gave her ownership of Vance Publishing, but the company remained protected within a family trust under my control. That evening, Bernard and my accountant Samuel helped me secure corporate accounts, suspend Delilah’s access, and begin the formal process of removing her from the company.
