What initially appeared on the family’s porch looked mysterious, but the piggy banks scattered outside were not simply filled with loose change. Inside were dozens of handwritten notes from complete strangers, all thanking five-year-old Julian for an act of kindness that had touched an entire community.
Just days earlier, Julian had given his own savings to an elderly neighbor, Mrs. Coralie, after learning that she was struggling to keep warm during the cold weather. The little boy had not expected recognition or anything in return. He simply wanted to help someone he cared about.

There were grocery gift cards for Mrs. Coralie.
A local heating-oil company sent an offer promising to provide enough fuel to keep her home warm throughout the winter.
An electrician wrote that he would inspect the elderly woman’s electrical system and repair the wiring without charging her anything.
Slowly, Julian’s mother began to understand something Mrs. Coralie had whispered to her son when he gave her his savings.
She asked Julian what the elderly woman had told him.
