Lip reader ‘reveals’ Donald Trump’s 8-word remark to UFC fighter who called Michelle Obama ‘a man’

Thousands of spectators watched as fighters stepped into the octagon in a setting unlike anything the sport had ever seen before.

Afterward, Trump celebrated the occasion on Truth Social, describing it as an unforgettable experience.

“The UFC at the White House last night was incredible,” he wrote.

He went on to praise the athletes, calling them “outstanding” and “unbelievable,” adding that it was “one of the most exciting days in the history of our fabled White House.”

The event also featured appearances from several high-profile political figures.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio compared the spectacle to one of America’s greatest achievements, drawing parallels to the Apollo moon missions.

“When President Kennedy announced that we were going to put a man on the moon and return him safely to the earth, no one thought that was possible, and we did it,” Rubio said.

“We are a nation founded on doing what no one else dared to do, and no one else aspired to do. And at some level, that’s what this whole company, what UFC has been.”

Despite the historic setting and celebratory atmosphere, one post-fight interview quickly became the biggest talking point of the evening.

Heavyweight fighter Josh Hokit, who competed against Derrick Lewis, used his interview time to thank Trump for hosting the event before suddenly making an offensive remark aimed at former First Lady Michelle Obama.

“And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?” Hokit said, according to reports.

The comment immediately generated backlash online and shifted attention away from the sporting event itself.

Soon afterward, another detail began circulating across social media.

Professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman claimed he analyzed a brief interaction between Trump and Hokit following the controversial statement.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Freeman said Trump appeared to tell the fighter:

“Too kind, thank you. You are the champion.”

It is important to note that lip-reading interpretations are not officially verified and can often be open to interpretation.

The incident also prompted a response from UFC President Dana White.

Although White has long been a vocal supporter of free speech, he made it clear he disagreed with personal attacks directed at public figures and their families.

In a text message shared with Time magazine, White said:

“I understand that the Obamas are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense.”

While the White House UFC event was intended to showcase patriotism, athletic competition, and a historic collaboration between politics and sports entertainment, the controversy surrounding Hokit’s comments quickly became one of the most discussed moments of the night.

Instead of focusing solely on the fights themselves, much of the public conversation afterward centered on where the line should be drawn between free speech, respect for public figures, and the responsibilities that come with having a national platform.

As debate continues online, the event serves as another example of how a single statement can rapidly overshadow an entire celebration in today’s social media age.
