    Jacqueline Bisset: A Timeless Icon
Jacqueline Bisset is simply extraordinary—in every sense of the word.

With a career spanning nearly six decades and a filmography boasting around 50 movies, the 80-year-old actress shows no signs of slowing down.

    A Hollywood Role Model
Jacqueline Bisset has been one of my biggest inspirations since childhood. My parents adored her, and to me, she embodies the glamour that Hollywood once had. She carries herself with a natural elegance, never relying on heavy makeup or artificial enhancements to maintain her beauty. There’s something effortlessly alluring about her.

Born on September 13, 1944, in Weybridge, Surrey, England, Bisset grew up in an artistic household. From an early age, she was drawn to performance, first exploring dance before pursuing acting—a passion that would define her life.

    A Legendary Career
Throughout her illustrious career, the brown-haired beauty, known for her striking green eyes and distinctive cheekbones, has taken on a variety of roles. She played the sultry Miss Goodthighs in the spy comedy Casino Royale (1967), a devoted mother in Sleepy Time Gal (2001), First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story (2003), and the iconic Anna Karenina in the 1985 adaptation of Tolstoy’s novel, starring alongside Christopher Reeve.

Her breakout came in 1966 with Roman Polanski’s Cul-de-Sac, but 1968 was the year she truly became a star. In a single year, she appeared in Detective with Frank Sinatra, Bullitt alongside Steve McQueen, and The Sweet Ride, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

Her impressive résumé also includes Day for Night (1973), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Deep (1977), Wild Orchid (1990), and a Golden Globe-nominated performance in Joan of Arc (1999). In 2013, she finally won a Golden Globe for her role in the miniseries Dancing on the Edge. More recently, she appeared in Miss You Already (2015) and Birds of Paradise (2021).

    An Independent Spirit
Bisset’s talents extend beyond acting—she’s multilingual, fluent in English, French, and Italian. In 2010, she was honored with the Legion of Honor, France’s highest order of merit, and in 2023, the Sedona International Film Festival recognized her with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Despite working alongside some of Hollywood’s most desirable leading men, Bisset has never married. She was pursued by Frank Sinatra, and rumors swirled about a romance with Bullitt co-star Steve McQueen. However, she always maintained they were too different.

“He was attractive but a little scary,” she told The Daily Mail. “I was very English, and he was a hip American. The way he talked would have driven me mad—I didn’t know what a ‘dude’ or a ‘soul chick’ was!”

She’s had long-term relationships with Canadian actor Michael Sarrazin, ballet dancer Alexander Godunov, and actor Vincent Pérez, but she admits she’s too independent for marriage.

“I’ve had some very interesting men in my life. They’ve been a handful,” she shared in an interview with The Independent. “I don’t choose easy men, I’m told. But sometimes, you just get too much information. You see the bad habits, and I’m not sure I can live with that. I don’t have bad breakups—I’ve just moved on from overwhelming situations.”

    A True Class Act
As the Godmother of Angelina Jolie, Bisset has never been one to chase tabloid attention, but she did make headlines when she won her long-overdue Golden Globe for Dancing on the Edge. Her speech, though slightly rambling, was filled with raw emotion and gratitude—after all, she had waited 47 years for the honor.

Since then, she has continued to take on intriguing roles, including the French thriller The Lodger (2020) and Loren & Rose (2022), where she played a legendary actress trying to revive her career. Director Russell Brown noted that despite her role, Bisset is nothing like the “zany and unreliable” character she portrayed—proving once again her incredible range as an actress.

A timeless beauty, Bisset has embraced aging with grace. In her now-famous Golden Globes speech, she shared her philosophy: “If you want to look good, you’ve got to forgive everybody. It’s the best beauty treatment.”

She has also never succumbed to the pressures of plastic surgery, saying, “I had lots of complexes when I was younger, but I was never tempted. I don’t think it makes you look younger. It just makes you look different.”

Such an honest, elegant, and talented artist—Jacqueline Bisset remains a luminous figure in Hollywood. A true class act and one of the greatest actresses of our time.
