Tom Bergeron posted a health update saying, “I received treatment for food poisoning and a bruised rib (that’s another story) while we celebrated our 41st anniversary yesterday at Santa Ynez Hospital (a shout-out to the fantastic staff). Now that I’m back home and recuperating, I’m once again reminded of how lucky I am that she said ‘yes’ 41 years ago.”

Bergeron has always kept his followers informed about various life events, including his health struggles. He posted a photo of his positive COVID-19 test and informed his followers about his sickness after he contracted the virus.
In July 2022, he posted a picture of his positive test saying, “After dodging it for over two years, it finally caught up with me. And here I was thinking I was invincible.”
A few days later, he provided another update, “Day 5 of COVID. Finished my Paxlovid prescription this morning. Works great but leaves an interesting metallic aftertaste.”
Tom Bergeron’s Tenure as the DWTS Host
Bergeron graced the “Dancing With the Stars” stage as the host for its first 28 seasons, starting in 2005. In July 2020, he posted a tweet stating, “Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15-year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made.”
Following Bergeron’s departure, Tyra Banks took over the hosting responsibilities. However, Banks left the show in 2023, paving the way for Julianne Hough to host season 32. Alfonso Ribeiro will co-host the first episode of the new season in the fall of 2023.
