The Grandchildren of Elizabeth Taylor: Keeping Her Legacy Alive
Elizabeth Taylor, the celebrated movie star, had a remarkable career that spanned over six decades. Alongside her professional success, Taylor’s personal life was often described as “scandalous,” having been married eight times and having four children. Today, her ten grandchildren are all grown up, and some of them bear a striking resemblance to their iconic grandmother.
The Life and Career of Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth “Liz” Taylor, an accomplished actress, had a prolific career that lasted over six decades. Although she achieved great success in her work, her personal life was often the subject of public scrutiny due to her multiple marriages and divorces.
Taylor married eight times, including two marriages to Richard Burton. She gave birth to four children: Michael Wilding Jr., Chris Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton. As her children grew up and started their own families, Taylor became a grandmother to ten beautiful grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Unfortunately, Taylor’s later years were marked by health issues. She experienced injuries, scoliosis, and skin cancer, undergoing more than 30 surgeries. In 2011, she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for congestive heart failure, and six weeks later, on March 23, 2011, she passed away.
Elizabeth Taylor’s Grandchildren: Carrying on Her Legacy
Before her passing, Taylor had the joy of having her children and grandchildren visit her at her mansion in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Today, her ten grandchildren are working hard to preserve her legacy.
Laela Wilding, the daughter of Elizabeth’s first child, Michael Wilding Jr., was born in 1971. She now works as a graphic designer and yoga instructor in Portland, Oregon. Being the first grandchild, Laela spent much time with her famous grandmother and fondly remembers their Sundays and holidays together. Many people have noticed the strong resemblance between Laela and her grandmother.
Naomi deLuce Wilding, born in 1976, is Laela’s younger sister. She co-founded the Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles in 2014 and is also involved with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Naomi admired her grandmother, even though she didn’t witness her as an actress. She recalls sitting in Taylor’s dressing room, observing her transformation and cherishing the moments they spent together.
Caleb Wilding, Elizabeth Taylor’s third grandchild and first grandson, was born in 1983. Caleb leads a private life away from the spotlight and reportedly has a passion for motorcycles.
Andrew Wilding, born in 1984, is Elizabeth Taylor’s second grandson. Following in his grandmother’s footsteps, Andrew pursued a career in the entertainment industry. He has worked as an actor and is best known for his work as a cinematographer and producer.
Tarquin Wilding, born in 1989, is Laela and Naomi’s half-brother and the seventh of Taylor’s grandchildren. Inspired by his famous grandmother, Tarquin decided to become an actor and has appeared in various films and TV shows.
Lowell Wilding, born in 1991, is the son of Christopher Wilding and his second wife, Margaret Carlton. He is actively involved in preserving Elizabeth Taylor’s legacy by working on the Elizabeth Taylor Archive. Lowell also serves as an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Quinn Tivey, born in 1986, is the son of Liza Todd and Hap Tivey. He chose not to drop his grandmother’s name when applying to the University of Southern California. Quinn pursued a career in the film industry and recalls the cherished moments spent with his grandmother.
Rhys Tivey, born in 1991, is another grandchild of Taylor. He is a trumpeter, vocalist, and songwriter and works as an ambassador for his grandmother’s AIDS foundation.
Elizabeth Carson, although not Taylor’s biological grandchild, was loved just as much as her other grandchildren. She is the daughter of Taylor’s adopted daughter, Maria Burton. Carson works as a social worker in New York and is also an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Richard McKeown, the youngest of Taylor’s grandchildren, is the son of Maria Burton. Not much is known about him, but there was a moment of turbulence in his childhood when his mother filed a restraining order against his father.
