Jamie Foxx Shares First Update Since Hospitalization
Actor’s Hospitalization and Family’s Request for Privacy
Jamie Foxx, the Django Unchained star, was hospitalized following a medical complication on April 11. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, broke the news to the public, asking for privacy during this time.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Growing Unease Among Fans
With Foxx remaining silent and no new information available, fans became increasingly worried. A public appeal for prayers from one of the actor’s closest friends, Charlie Mack, added to their concern.
Mack, a hip hop figure, film producer, and Foxx’s “brother,” wrote on Instagram, “We need you back Bro @iamjamiefoxx you’re a fighter, strong & resilient, so I know your fortitude. Your test becomes your testimony!! We all can’t wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with, and applaud you!!”
Foxx’s Condition and Gratitude
While the reason for Foxx’s hospitalization remains unclear, a source told People in April that the Oscar-winner was “awake and alert.”
Doctors continued running tests, keeping Foxx under observation. Three weeks after the incident, Foxx broke his silence to thank fans for their love and support. The 55-year-old actor wrote on Instagram, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
Foxx’s Appreciation for Nick Cannon’s Help
Foxx also posted on his Instagram story, thanking Nick Cannon for filling in as the host for the upcoming season of Beat Shazam. Foxx wrote, “Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon. See u all soon.”
