Meet the World’s Most Gorgeous Horse: The Akhal-Teke
A Majestic Work of Art
Horses are often admired for their untamed beauty and majestic presence. The horse we’re about to introduce, however, may just be the most stunning you’ve ever seen.
The Golden Horse from Turkey
This remarkable horse hails from Turkey and has been proclaimed the most gorgeous horse in the world by specialists. He is an Akhal-Teke, a breed that originated from the now-extinct Turkoman horse. With only 3,500 of these horses currently in existence, they are a rare and precious sight.
A Divine Appearance
The Akhal-Teke’s coat appears to be covered in gold, shining brilliantly in the sunlight. Measuring between 58 to 64 inches (147 to 163 cm) tall, this thoroughbred is known as “the horse from heaven” in China. Its dazzling sheen is attributed to the structure of its fur, designed to intensify and reflect light rays.
Born for Camouflage
Born with its golden fur, the Akhal-Teke is believed to use its unique coloration as camouflage in the desert. This breed is the oldest in the world and the first to be domesticated, thought to have originated in Achal, Turkmenistan, around 3,000 years ago.
